Frequently Asked Questions.
Q: Why Ace the Regents?
A: This is our tenth year running review classes. Students who take our courses come back every year for a number
Reduced Stress - Students tell us how comfortable they feel after attending the course and that they learn more in the six-hour course than they could studying on their own.
Better Teachers - We have found that it takes a certain type of teacher to make a day spent in school on the weekend worthwhile. Even teachers who have come highly recommended and loved by students in their classes do not always translate to success in a one day setting. We gather feedback on all our teachers and only retain those who get overwhelming positive feedback.
Affordability - For the price of one hour of private tutoring, students receive an entire day of learning. All of our teachers privately tutor students at $100 per hour or more. Other review companies charge hundreds of dollars per review session.
Q: Which is a better review program: a one-day course or a six-week course?
A: Having taught both, we have found the one-day review to be more effective. In a six-week course, during the last class, students already forgot what was covered in late April. For students, the last few weeks of school are filled with so much new information and other ongoing exams, that they understandably forget information from a month earlier. In a one-day class, each important topic is covered as close to the regents as possible.
Q: What times do the classes run?
A: Courses run from 9am to 3pm. Registration (if you have not registered online) and sign-in begins at 8:30am.
Q: What is the day set up like?
A: The day is divided into six “periods.” There is a 10-minute break between each period and a half-hour for lunch. Each period tackles a different subject. For example, in Earth Science different periods might be astronomy, weather, and earth’s history. If you would like more detailed information on what is covered in a specific course, please give us a call.
Q: What about lunch?
A: Students should bring a bag lunch to the review. Water fountains and vending machines are available but the campus cafeteria is closed during May and June.
Q: What should students bring on the day of the review?
A: Students should bring a notebook, calculator (if applicable), and any reference materials they have. We will supply all of the necessary review materials to ensure a successful and aced regents!
Q: What if a student signs up and is unable to make the class?
A: Students will be charged only for the classes they attend.
Q: Can a student sign up the morning of the class?
A: Yes, if space allows.
Q: How is payment submitted?
A: Once you/your child registers, you will receive an email with detailed payment instructions.
Q: Are students bored?
A: Each instructor puts in time and effort to create an interesting, interactive curriculum, which assures that spending a beautiful Saturday or Sunday in June indoors in a classroom is time well spent.
